Blink Code Decoder
Some bikes report faults by flashing a warning light in long and short blinks. Tap along with the light, or count the flashes yourself, to find the code.
2. Read the flashes — choose either way
Tap along
Press and hold the button while the light is on, and let go when it goes off. Tap the whole code twice — the longest pause separates the two rounds, and both must match.

Enter the counts
Count the flashes in one round of the code and enter them here.
Adjust detection
Your taps are split into a short group and a long group. If the two groups are closer than this, every flash is counted as short. Raise it if short flashes are being read as long; lower it if long flashes are being missed.
Tips for reading blink codes
- Many bikes need a diagnostic mode switched on before they flash a code. Check the page for your model to see how.
- A code is usually repeated with a longer pause between repeats. Wait for that pause, then start tapping at the next flash.
- On many bikes, long flashes count tens and short flashes count ones, but this differs between brands and models — use the code list for your bike to be sure.
- If more than one code is stored, the bike may flash them one after another. Decode them one at a time.
